At the heart of the town stands the Maria-Magdalenen-Bergkirche. A network of hiking trails takes you along various routes over gentle slopes and through peaceful side valleys. You’ll walk alongside clear streams and meadows dotted with mountain flowers. Benches and shelters provide places to rest. Information boards offer insights into the region’s nature and culture. In summer, cool, clean waters invite you to take a dip. Whether you’re out on a mountain bike, a cycle, jogging, Nordic walking or trail running, you’ll find suitable routes all around Wildemann. The was once one of the most important drainage tunnels in the Upper Harz silver mining industry. Today, 100 metres underground, you can experience how mining was carried out in Wildemann. The Harz Red Highland Cattle are a typical feature of the local landscape. This breed of cattle has shaped the history of the village and can still be seen today at the ‘Klein-Tirol’ mountain farm, which also opens a farm café at weekends. For a change of pace indoors, there’s the Glowgolf course right next to the new activity park in Spiegeltal, which, with its sports and play equipment, invites young and old alike to linger. In winter, you can explore the snow-covered mountains on groomed cross-country trails or on a hike through the winter landscape. In the Spiegeltal valley, an 800-metre-long toboggan run offers a chance to get some exercise in the fresh air.
