From the northern edge of the Kyffhäuser mountains, it leads into the fertile Golden Aue and into the southern Harz.

From Kelbra, you drive on the dam of the reservoir to Berga. Then Kyffhäuser and the Badrische Switzerland lie behind you, and you look out over the southern Harz.
