The rooms at Michaelstein Abbey bear striking similarities to the world's most famous school of witchcraft. Although the monks themselves weren’t particularly interested in magic and magical rituals, there are still many parallels to Professor Snape’s potion ingredients and Professor Sprout’s greenhouse. Mythical creatures, witches, monsters, and demons were also not unknown to the monks. During the tour, you’ll learn how they protected themselves and what tools Muggles used in the Middle Ages to defend against the dark creatures of the night. This event is part of the Spiritual Autumn of the Harz Monasteries. Note: Children must be accompanied by an adult—adults are responsible for supervising them If there is particularly high interest, we’ll be happy to offer a second tour if needed.
