Directions

The starting point is the train station in Thale. From Thale, the tour deceptively leads out towards Treseburg via Wolfsburgstraße. But here awaits the first tough climb. With a maximum gradient of 14%, it goes uphill to the Roßtrappe.

After reaching the top, we continue to Treseburg. In the town center, we keep right and cycle along the Bode to Altenbrak. Now follows an approx. 3km long climb, rhythmically rideable and located on an almost traffic-free side road towards Almsfeld. Shortly before Almsfeld, we turn right and continue via Waldesruh and Cattenstedt to Blankenburg. Once there, we turn from the main road onto B27 towards Hüttenrode. Now follows an approx. 6km long climb, which initially rises gently through the town and climbs up to 6%. From Hüttenrode, we continue following B27 to Rübeland.

In Rübeland, we keep left and finally cross the Rappbodestaumauer. It is worth taking a short break here and enjoying the view from the 106m high dam.

Arriving at B81, we keep left and reach Hasselfelde. We continue along B81 over Rotacker until we finally turn left at the junction towards Stiege. From Stiege, via Allrode, we return to Treseburg and continue towards Thale. At the junction to Wienrode, however, we turn left to return to Thale via Wienrode and Timmrode.

However, our tour is not yet over. From Thale, we follow the signs towards Friedrichsbrunn. Already in Thale, at the Obersteigerweg/Eisenbahnstraße intersection, the 4.4km long hard climb begins via the Hexentanzplatz. But the incline is not over yet there. It continues with a maximum of 6% to Friedrichsbrunn. That completes the last climb of the tour, and we ride down via Bad Suderode and Stecklenberg back to our starting point in Thale.
