Guest Cards

Are there guest cards available in the Harz region, and if so – which ones?
Yes, there are two guest cards: the Harz Guest Card and the HarzCard. We’d like to give you a closer look at both options here.

How do the cards differ?
The Harz Guest Card is a free card that you receive for the duration of your stay. The guest card of your holiday destination counts as your Harz Guest Card. You receive it either in paper form or as a digital version when you pay the local visitor’s tax. It includes discounts or small benefits that you can redeem locally. Some other places, even if they’re not your overnight destination, also accept the card.

The HarzCard is a paid all-inclusive card that you purchase once. In return, you get free entry or valuable benefits at nearly 100 tourism partners. You won’t be able to take advantage of them all, as the card’s use is time-limited. However, if you want to be active during your holiday, you can choose as many options as possible.

The Harz Guest Card is no longer available as a separate card. It has been replaced by the respective local guest tickets. You will receive these when you pay the guest fee locally as part of an overnight stay. In return, you can make use of local services.
However, there are places that also offer benefits to guests who have paid their guest fee in another location. We have summarised this cross-regional offer under the umbrella term “Harz Guest Card”. To redeem a service, simply show your guest ticket. You can view the available services via the button below.
Finally, an important note: Many places offer free bus transport as compensation for the guest fee. More information here: HATIX
