There are quite a few tourist providers in the Harz region who put the topic of accessibility into practice. Of course, not all offers meet the prescribed DIN standards one hundred per cent. But many partners make a great effort to provide people with disabilities with a pleasant holiday experience. According to their circumstances, they handle the topic as best as they can.
Numerous facilities have been certified under “Travel for All”. This is a nationwide initiative for assessing service providers with regard to accessibility. As a result, they are, for example, suitable for wheelchair users or people with walking impairments, to mention two affected groups. The needs vary considerably, so it’s advisable to look through the evaluations carefully to find the right conditions on site.
