Discover the Harz sustainably and comfortably by public transport. You can reach many places on the edge of the Harz by train. With the regional buses, you can travel further into the Harz and often overcome considerable differences in altitude. Combine your hikes and excursions in the Harz relaxedly with the bus. This way, you get to know the region consciously and at a slower pace while contributing to climate protection. With the Harz Holiday Ticket (HATIX), you can even travel free of charge as an overnight guest in one of the participating towns by bus and tram in the Harz – perfect for a car-free holiday.

HATIX


The HATIX – the Harz holiday ticket – allows overnight guests, after paying the visitor’s tax or guest contribution in one of the participating Harz towns, to use the public bus and tram lines free of charge in the districts of Harz, Goslar, Göttingen and Mansfeld-Südharz. (In the districts of Mansfeld-Südharz and Göttingen, HATIX is only valid on selected routes.)

These Harz towns take part in the HATIX system:

You will receive the HATIX if you stay overnight in one of the following towns and pay the guest contribution or visitor’s tax there: Bad Grund, Bad Harzburg, Bad Lauterberg, Ballenstedt, Blankenburg, Braunlage, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Goslar, Halberstadt, Hahnenklee, Harzgerode, Ilsenburg, Langelsheim, Bergstadt Lautenthal, Oberharz am Brocken, Osterode am Harz, World Heritage Town Quedlinburg, Seesen, Thale, Walkenried, Wernigerode, Wieda, Wolfshagen am Harz and Zorge.
