Grube Catharina Neufang
With its narrow and winding mining areas, it conveys an authentic impression of historical mining. One of the special features is a fully mined ore passage with a depth of around 240 meters.
In the mine, the work with mallets and iron as well as the mining technique of ganger ore mining can be seen. For a better understanding, it is recommended to visit the Samson mine and the mining museum before the visit.
Following restoration measures carried out in 2025 in line with mining ecology and monument conservation, Catharina Neufang has been open to visitors again since 2026. Parts of the mine are accessible; further information is available on request.
Helmets are compulsory on tours. Children under the age of 10 are not allowed to visit the mine. Dogs are not allowed.
