Press Relations

An important field of activity for the HTV is press and public relations for the Harz tourism region. Regular and high-quality contact with journalists is the foundation of numerous regional and nationwide reports. Thanks to many years of good cooperation with the press, the HTV is seen as a competent contact partner. 

Throughout the year, the media are informed about the association’s and regional partners’ topics through numerous press releases.
With its tourist diversity, the Harz attracts great media interest in every season. The association constantly receives journalistic inquiries about various topics.

Over the past few years, blogger trips have become increasingly important. The HTV is often financially supported by regional marketing organisations or the German National Tourist Board in implementing them. 
A key advantage of blog posts is that they remain accessible online for a long time, and can therefore inspire readers to take a trip to the Harz even later on. In addition, most bloggers are active on social media and share their experiences with their fans almost in real time – a real added value. Blogger trips often focus on nature, outdoor activities, and topics aimed at specific target groups.

Not only during the research phase is the HTV a popular contact point for journalists and reporters. Throughout the year, the association receives more than 100 short-term interview requests from radio and television broadcasters, which need to be answered quickly. Original audio clips for radio programmes are easily recorded over the phone or on a smartphone and broadcast in the next news segment. Popular topics include booking trends in the Harz, event tips for holidays and long weekends, current winter sports opportunities, and the latest news from Harz tourism.
