Bad Sachsa

Bad Sachsa lies on the sunny southern side of the Harz Mountains and offers mild air and a relaxing environment. This climatic health resort invites you to go for walks, explore and unwind.

In the town centre, you’ll find cafés, restaurants and leisure activities among half-timbered houses and buildings from past centuries. Parks, meadows, lakes and ponds give the town its distinctive appearance.

At the NatUrzeit Museum, you can go on a journey through 290 million years of natural history of the southern Harz. The Salztal-Paradies adventure pool offers you a bathing and sauna area with wave pool, inflatable slide, wild water rapids, various saunas and a children's section.

Along the Green Belt, the former inner-German border strip, you can discover a largely untouched animal and plant world. The Borderland Museum Bad Sachsa provides information about the history of this landscape.

In winter, numerous sports activities are available to you. The ice rink in the Salztal-Paradies is open all year round and offers ice skating, ice hockey and curling. At 659 metres high, the Ravensberg is home to the Bad Sachsa ski paradise with a 4,000‑metre network of slopes, nine runs, three lifts and a snowboard park with jumps and ramps. Several cross-country ski trails also lead through the surroundings. You can find current information on the winter sports page for Bad Sachsa.
