Neudorf is a district of the town Harzgerode. The village lies on a high plateau about 440 metres above sea level, in the source area of the narrow Wipper river. The village's character shapes the place, and its elevation ensures fresh, crisp air.
On more than 50 kilometres of marked trails, you can go hiking around Neudorf. The routes lead through forests, across mountain meadows and fields. They offer you space for both activity and tranquillity. A special trail is the “Neudorf Historical Mining Circular Trail”. It runs past former mining sites and displays the village's mining history spanning roughly 600 years.
In the local museum, you can find objects from past centuries. They show how people here used to live and work.
If you're looking for leisure activities, you’ll find them at the Active Wellness Oasis. There you’ll find a quad track, a mini-golf course, a sauna, an outdoor area with a barbecue site, and more options for exercise or relaxation. The facility is part of the Birnbaumteich Holiday Park, located right by a bathing lake in Neudorf am Harz.
