The Kiliansteiche dam complex is located between Straßberg and the Naturresort Schindelbruch in the "Straßberger Wiesen". Originally, at the site of the dam, there was a cascade of reservoirs consisting of 4 ponds, one of which was already mentioned in documents in 1610. From 1703, in connection with mining in Straßberg, additional Kiliansteiche were built.
This route is part of the companion booklet "My First Stamp Book" from the Harzer Wandernadel, which includes stroller-friendly routes.
After completing all 16 routes and filling the companion booklet with stamps, you can reward yourself with the special hiking badge.

Directions
A suitable starting point is the car park at the intersection of the main street and Stadtweg. On Stadtweg, go straight into the forest without leaving the wide forest road. Pass the Heiligenbergsquelle and continue to the Maliniusteich. After about 800 meters, keep right on the forest road, which is closed to cars, to reach the height of the Kiliansteiche. Once at the top, continue straight on a forest path about 800 meters to the right to reach the desired stamp box.
