The route leads from the northern edge of the Harz up into the High Harz.

The half-day route goes over hills and valleys, with the track surface frequently changing. There are steep ascents and descents in places. Until Torfhaus, the route generally climbs uphill, followed by a longer descent to the Oker reservoir. Ultimately, it climbs again to the Brockenblick shelter before descending steeply back to the starting point.
