Harzer-Hexen-Stieg - 4th stage southern variant - from Drei Annen Hohne via Hasselfelde to Altenbrak

Across the sun-drenched plateau of the Lower Harz, we reach Hasselfelde. The Köhlerweg begins in the town’s spa park. Just as mining has left its marks in the Upper Harz, charcoal burning has left its signs in many places in this region. To ensure we do not pass by unnoticed, information boards draw our attention to the relics in the landscape. The tradition of charcoal production is lovingly preserved to this day. At the demonstration charcoal burner at the Stemberghaus, the piles are smoking, and the spicy scent penetrates the forest from afar. Those with space can take home a sack of authentic Harz charcoal.
