July 24, 2026, with Jochen Stern at the Summer Palace of Brunshausen Abbey
On Friday, July 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., Portal zu Geschichte e.V. invites you to a special evening: Jochen Stern, known in Bad Gandersheim as an actor with the Gandersheim Cathedral Festival, will share stories from his life, read excerpts from his works, and keep the audience entertained with his humor.
Jochen Stern has acted not only on stage but also in numerous films, including “Ein Herz und eine Seele,” “Aimée und Jaguar,” “Good Bye Lenin,” and “Altersglühen – Speed Dating für Senioren.” Jochen Stern has chronicled his eventful life—as a young man, he was arrested by the Soviet secret police in 1947 for political reasons and sentenced to 25 years of forced labor at the Bautzen prison—in several books.
Jochen Stern is now 97 years old. He is one of the annual regulars at the Gandersheim Cathedral Festival, has many loyal fans, and won’t miss the chance to see the musical about the “Beatles” this year.
The team at Portal zur Geschichte e.V. is looking forward to the “Stern Hour” with Jochen Stern on July 24. Admission is free.
