Crafts Fair Celebrating 290 Years of Sankt Andreasberg's Mining and Local History
75th Anniversary of the Grube Samson Museum, 25th Anniversary of the Harzer-Roller Museum, 95th Anniversary of the Roter Bär Museum, and 95th Anniversary of the St. Andreasberg Association for History and Archaeology (e.V.)
The year 2026 marks several founding anniversaries in St. Andreasberg. In addition to the founding of the Historical Society and the first mining museum at the Roter Bär Mine in 1931, these include the start of museum operations at the Samson Mine in 1951 and the opening of the world’s only canary museum in the Samson Mine shaft building. To mark this occasion, we invite you to a two-day celebration as well as a lecture evening that will shed light on the former Free Mining Town of St. Andreasberg and its vibrant mining heritage from multiple perspectives.
