Since 2015, the Treetop Walk Harz has been inviting visitors under the motto “Let’s go! Up we go! Ready for nature?” to experience an adventure high above the Kaltes Tal in Bad Harzburg. Stretching over more than 1,000 metres in length and reaching up to 26 metres in height, you can explore the Harz from a new perspective – barrier-free and offering many insights into nature and geology.
More than 50 interactive stations make the path along the treetops a journey of discovery. In the 300-metre-long “Crown” section, topics such as the Big Bang, the formation of the Earth, and life in the Harz are vividly presented. You can discover over 30 types of trees and shrubs, touch rocks, and listen to Wally the pedlar woman telling stories from bygone days.
A special highlight is the glass platform 26 metres up – a popular photo spot – as well as the narrow adventure bridge, which requires courage and balance. Weddings take place regularly on the walkway. A combined ticket with the Burgberg cable car links the visit with a short hike and views of the Burgberg, the town, and the surrounding nature.
Anyone who wants to learn more about the forest ecosystem can follow the Root Trail below. A root tunnel leads into the underground network of the forest and shows how trees and soil are connected.
