Friedrichsbrunn

Friedrichsbrunn is a state-recognised climatic health resort and winter sports destination and is part of the town of Thale. The village lies at an altitude of 533 metres on the south-eastern edge of the legendary Bode Valley.

With more than 190 kilometres of marked hiking trails, Friedrichsbrunn offers ideal conditions for hikers and nature lovers. The trails lead through a landscape of mountains, valleys, and meadows. On various circular walks or tours towards the Bode Valley, you’ll come across sights such as the Devil’s Mill, the Eagle Oak, or the Bergrat Müller Pond.

In the village itself, it’s worth visiting the small spa park with the graduation pavilion as well as the Bonhoeffer House, which serves as a place for education, remembrance, and encounters.

In winter, Friedrichsbrunn transforms into a versatile winter sports resort. The Bodetal cross-country skiing arena offers around 16 kilometres of trails on three circular routes with different levels of difficulty. The offer is complemented by toboggan runs and well-maintained winter hiking paths. You can find more information on the winter sports page for Friedrichsbrunn.
