A popular circular hiking route with wonderful views, not only for families with children, around the cave village Rübeland.

The small circular hiking trail to the "Hoher Kleef" viewpoint pavilion is a perfect complement to your cave visit. On the small zigzag ascent, children will have a lot of fun. As a reward, children receive stamp no. 88 of the Harzer Wandelnadel, and parents can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the cave village Rübeland and the Brocken massif.

Just a few steps away is a "Bienotel". A display and a life-sized carved bee bear, which houses a bee colony inside its belly, convey a lot of interesting information about bees, their life, protection, and habitat.

Directions

The hiking trail leads from the car park at the Bodeperle outdoor pool via Blankenburger Straße, passing the cave restaurant on the left. The route continues on Burgstraße.

After about 200 m, we first hike left on the "Zig-Zag Path" up to the "Hoher Kleef" pavilion with the Harzer Wandernadel stamp station no. 88. Here we enjoy an impressive view not only of the cave village but also of the Brocken and the Wurmberg as well as the opposite mountain meadow landscape.

From the pavilion, the path leads us further to the "Bienotel": a life-sized carved bear greets us, providing a species-appropriate home for a bee colony inside its belly.

We continue on the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg back to the country road (L96) and then back to Rübeland to the outdoor pool.

On this circular route, you have the opportunity to collect one of the coveted stamps of the Harzer Wandernadel.

No. 88 - viewpoint pavilion Hoher Kleef

In summer, a visit to the Bodeperle outdoor pool is recommended after the hike. Also particularly worth seeing are the Rübeland dripstone caves.

The hiking route can also be walked in reverse.
