On the trail of the Neuhof-Schwiebachtal educational path.

The educational and panoramic path gives you time for discoveries on your own, for a combination with hikes to Kranichstein or Sachsenstein or into the beautiful spa town of Bad Sachsa, where the line bus returns from the local Uffeplatz stop. The tour, which starts directly at the station, combines a high-altitude hiking trail with beautiful distant views over the South Harz landscape, far into Thuringia and up to the Brocken, and geological and ecological features, excellently illustrated by informative panels.

You can walk the circular route either left or right depending on weather and sun position. This educational path shows you the diversity and beauty of the South Harz cultural landscape and imparts knowledge about agricultural land use. Interesting outcrops, where terrace gravel, copper shale, and Zechstein limestone are exposed, are also touched upon by the route. At more than 20 stations, you learn interesting details about agriculture, geology, and ecology in the picturesque Schwiebachtal. Follow the trail markings that lead you back to the starting point.
