The easy route leads from the edge of the Harz up to Eselsplatz and offers a beautiful view of Lerbach, which lies stretched out in the valley. From Bärenkopf, it then goes downhill again back over the Söse dam to Osterode. Since the route has only a few easy single trails, it is also suitable for families.

- Public transportationFrom the Osterode-Mitte train stop, head about 1.5 km eastwards through the old town towards Freiheit. On the other side of the Söse at the large parking lot "Bleichestelle," you reach the three MTB routes OS1, OS2, and OS3.
