Gain insight into the history of Braunlage on a long walk along quiet paths through nature!
On a section of the Brocken bypass of the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg, you walk until the path leads through Braunlage along the former inner German border. Enjoy the view into the picturesque Bremke valley and take a break.
On the way back, you will see the beautiful Bodetal before you reach the spa park. Take a lap around the park pond or rest in the café in the spa guest center. In the Heimat and FIS Ski Museum, you will hear exciting stories from Braunlage and learn how the first skis came to the Harz.

Directions
From the Wurmberg cable car parking lot, follow the symbol of route 3.
You walk part of the Brocken circular route of the Harzer Hexenstieg until you cross the B 27. Follow the path towards Silberfuchsfarm along the Bremke, which was the border river to the former GDR until 1990.
Then you walk above the Warme Bode towards Wietfelder Straße and the spa park. The beauty of the Bodetal, which you can see from here, compensates for the fact that the path is almost continuously paved at this point.
From the spa park, you walk a short stretch along the former route of the South Harz railway towards the starting point of the route.Directions & Parking facilities
