Directions

The route leads along the sculpture path towards Seboldhausen with the village church built around 1884 in the neo-Gothic style. In Dannhausen there is a boundary stone. It marks the border of the former offices Gandersheim, Westerhof, Staufenburg, and Seesen. The route continues to Hachenhausen with its castle and castle park. However, this is privately owned. Harriehausen is the largest village in the city area of Bad Gandersheim and the center of the Harzbörde region. A highlight of this route is the Roman-Germanic battlefield at Harzhorn from the year 235 AD. In the fossil room of the Willershausen clay pit, fossils and information about the history of the natural monument are presented. The village of Wiershausen belongs to the early medieval settlements in this region. In 1007, the small settlement of Ellierode was founded, which at the end of the Second World War received the nickname “The hidden village.” From here, the route returns to Bad Gandersheim.
