Directions

The T7 starts in Badenhausen at the multigenerational square towards Windhausen, where the first highlight awaits exploration: the castle ruin „Alte Burg“. A detour to Bad Grund (Harz) with its sights (Cave Experience Center "Am Iberg", Mining Museum "Knesebeckschacht", Clock Museum, World Forest Harz and Fairy Tale Valley) is recommended. It then continues towards Gittelde. Passing the Gittelde-Bad Grund station, you reach at the entrance to Gittelde the adit „Ernst-August-Stollen“, which belongs to the "Upper Harz Water Management System" and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010. Through the over 1050-year-old settlement of Gittelde, you head north to the Stauffenburg estate. After a short climb through a beautiful mixed deciduous forest and a small footpath, the cyclist is rewarded with magnificent views of the Harz foothills at the castle ruin „Stauffenburg“.

Through open fields and through Gittelde, with the St. Mauritius Church, the route continues through Teichhütte over Eisdorf above the Sösetal valley towards Badenhausen to the castle remains of the „Hindenburg“. At the barbecue area below the "Hindenburg" or at the starting point at the "Multigenerational Square" you can end the bike tour.
