Directions

The starting point is the station in Berga. From there the tour begins via Bösenrode, Uftrungen to Rottleberode. Here we immediately keep right at the entrance to the town and follow the branch Pulvermühle/Schwenda. To Schwenda, it's about 10km steadily uphill now.

After leaving Schwenda, we turn left and follow the road to the Auerberg. There we make a sharp right and follow the signs to Strassberg and Silberhütte. In the town center, turn right towards Neudorf and shortly before that turn right again to finally head towards Hayn. Via Hayn, Wolfsberg, and Breitenbach, we reach Schwiederschwende. Here we keep left and have a long descent past Agnesdorf, over the A38, through Rossla to Kelbra ahead of us.

Starting from the center of Kelbra, the famous northern ascent to the Kyffhäuser begins via Frankenhäuser Straße (B85). Over 5.3 km, countless hairpin bends and about 300 meters of altitude must be overcome. Then it continues over Rathsfeld turning right to Steinthaleben on a descent about 7 km long. In the town center, we keep right and finally arrive back in Kelbra.

The last three kilometers run flat from Kelbra back to our starting point in Berga.
