On the eBike in the Upper Harz Water Management World Heritage Site.

From Altenau/Rose along the dam ditch to Sperberhaier Damm - Huttaler Widerwaage - Entensumpf - Hirschler Teich -

Jägersbleeker Teich - Fortuner Teich. The return trip to Altenau is via the old railway embankment.

We start our route from the "Roseweg" car park.  Initially, it goes uphill until we reach the dam ditch. The dam ditch is both a section of the Harz Hexen Steig and part of the Upper Harz Water Management World Heritage Site. With the Sperberhaier Dammhaus excursion restaurant, we reach our first place to eat.

From here we continue over the dam and follow the dam ditch further to the intersection "Dead Men's Valley" / "Slag Path." We take the "Slag Path" all the way up, turn left and follow the B242 for about 200m. At the entrance to the Polsterberger Hubhaus, we cross the B242 and follow the signs for "Huttaler Graben"/"Huttaler Widerwaage."  Now we reach the "Entensumpf" car park, from which we cross the road and follow the narrow hiking trail past Hirschler Teich to the Weppner Hut at Jägersbleeker Teich. There is the opportunity to take a short break in the Weppner Hut.

After a rest at the hut, from our direction we continue left towards Fortuner Teich before crossing the K38 and reaching the access to the "Old Railway Embankment." We follow its course to "Old Station" in Altenau. We stay on the road to the intersection and turn sharply right into the street "An der Schwefelquelle." Here it goes uphill until we reach forest paths again. We follow the signs to "Kristall Therme" / Glockenberg. At the top, we take the steeper path further up and reach our starting point again via the parking lot of the hotel "Zum Forsthaus."

Mostly forest tracks, occasionally single trails and root-covered ground.

Safety guidelines

For example, between Lisbon and Porto the infrastructure is not yet well developed. The stages from one accommodation to the next can therefore be long and adventurous.
