The village of Darlingerode, idyllically situated between Wernigerode and Ilsenburg right on the Harz Monastery Hiking Trail, is definitely worth a visit thanks to its history and numerous narrow alleys. If you follow the village street, you’ll come to St. Laurentius Church, a 13th-century hall church with a Romanesque core. Hikers and pilgrims will find a peaceful, beautiful resting spot at St. Laurentius Church, complete with a stamp station and an “Angel’s Bench,” and often also representatives from the dedicated support association “Friends of St. Laurentius Church Darlingerode e.V.,” who lovingly maintain the property.
