What are the Alps, really? Crossing the Harz also takes a lot of energy and concentration – making it a real challenge. Or, quite literally, a “nearby” training goal for higher ambitions – the Harz offers you the best opportunities for that.
For example, from Bad Harzburg in the north to Bad Lauterberg in the south – 66 kilometres of route and 2,450 metres of elevation gain included. The west-east route from Seesen to Ilsenburg with 91 kilometres and 2,500 metres of elevation is no more relaxing. Both routes lead over the legendary Brocken.
The Volksbank Arena Harz trail network includes a total of 74 uniformly signposted mountain bike routes in the districts of Goslar, Osterode, Harz and Nordhausen. Among them are tempting trails with promising names such as “Altitude Fever” or “Wild Man’s Trail”. On the “Little Water Tour” or the “Little Monk’s Loop”, families and beginners will also get their money’s worth. The diversity and size of this biking paradise are impressive, covering an area of more than 40 by 40 kilometres.
31 Harz towns invite you to go on a mountain bike tour: on the northern slopes of the Harz in Goslar as well as in the southern Harz in Walkenried, starting from Seesen in the far west and in the Thuringian southern Harz in the far east of the Volksbank Arena Harz.
