Denkmal für die Wasserknechte
For many centuries - before pumps and other water-lifting devices could be used - the water servants were responsible for transporting the constantly inflowing groundwater up from the pits and shafts.
Their most important tools were the oak water buckets. A large shelf full of water buckets has been erected here as a small memorial to the water servants.
With the help of a bucket chained to the shelf, hikers can try out for themselves just how hard the water servants' work was.
