Flohburg - The Nordhausen Museum

The FLOHBURG is one of the oldest half-timbered houses in Nordhausen., The "Haus der Barte", as the FLOHBURG was formerly called, has been known of since the 12th century. It has been a residential house, brewery, theatre, poorhouse and children's library. With the opening as Nordhausen Museum on 30th June 2012, the valuable collections of Nordhausen have had a worthy home. Tales and stories from the city's exciting history spanning more than 1,090 years will be vividly presented in 19 main themes.
Using 1,000 m² of exhibition space, the house combines town history, geology, archaeology and natural history - all under one roof. It is a meeting place, stimulating learning and reflection.
