The Knesebeck shaft belongs to the mine “Hilfe Gottes” in Bad Grund.

“Glückauf” (good luck) in Bad Grund: The Knesebeck shaft belongs to the mine “Hilfe Gottes” in Bad Grund, which was closed down as recently as 1992, the last ore mine in the Upper Harz Mountains.
The museum with a "hands on mining philosophy" shows the technical development of the listed plant from the middle of last century until the end of operation. You can see the historic winding engine, electric compressors, two restored Radstuben and a 47 meter high tower. The outdoor area is dominated by the formerly used underground vehicles. For groups of children there is a special program called, "On the trail of the miners", which guarantees lots of fun.
