The Unstrut-Werra cycle path leads into the Hainleite, past the Bebra springs, then steadily and steeply uphill to the Possen leisure park, continuing over the Hainleite plateau. Rohrteich, Mutterblutbuche, and Marienbrunn invite you to take a break. Here, gravel roads dominate up to the tank road near the Mutterblutbuche. The long ascent to the southern Hainleite is quite rideable (although with rather coarse gravel); only shortly before the Bonnrode monastery estate is the path worse. At the top, you have a wonderful view into the valley. After a short rise, it goes steeply downhill into the Wippertal – be sure to ride slowly, and from Seega uphill again to the Windleite. Enjoy the great view here as well! Downhill, you reach Bad Frankenhausen and continue on the Unstrut-Werra cycle path to Rottleben. From there, it goes to the Barbarossa cave and through the baroque village of Bendeleben (castle park worth seeing). On the asphalted Unstrut-Werra cycle path, you return through the Wippertal back to Sondershausen.
