Castle museum/Schlossmuseum
For many centuries, Sondershausen Castle was the residence of the Schwarzburg counts, princes and rulers of the small state of Thuringia.

Palace Sondershausen was for many centuries the residence of the Schwarzburg counts and princes, the rulers of the small Thuringia State. Admire in the palace museum the stunning ancestor gallery, various stations about the town and regional history, an art collection and many great rooms such as the amateur theatre, chapel as well as the vault at the Wendelstein. A rarity is the golden coach, which is a state carriage of the early 18th century. Sondershausen has a long music tradition, which is also reflected in one of the exhibitions, where some old important instruments are on display. In the "Galerie im Schloss" (palace gallery) are contemporary art exhibitions.
