We start the bike route at the forebay dam, on the B 498 behind the exit of Altenau, cross the forebay dam, cycle left on the paved forest road always along the Oker Dam. The widely branched side arms of the Oker Dam especially invite you to enjoy the varied play of water, forest and air during the bike route. For a short break with a view of the dam, benches on the shore invite you to linger. After about 7 km we reach the large main dam. We cross this and continue left on the paved shore path next to the main road towards Altenau. We pass the Weißwasser Bridge, come past the excursion restaurant "Der Windbeutelkönig" and then reach the starting point again, the forebay dam.
In summer, the Oker Reservoir offers ideal conditions for water sports. Here you can swim, surf or take boat trips.
With the excursion ship, which runs on the dam almost all year round, visitors can go on a discovery tour into the numerous and beautifully situated bays.
