Start: Tourist Information Halberstadt (Town Hall)

In Halberstadt via Heinrich-Julius-Str., Spiegelstr., Spiegelsbergenweg towards the Spiegelsberge Landscape Park

Detour landscape park Spiegelsberge: follow the signs in the park

continue via Kirschallee, Harzklubweg and Lindenberg towards Langenstein – follow the signs for Aller-Harz Cycle Path (HV-R-5)

Detour "Glass Monk": shortly before Langenstein, take the path to the left towards "Landhaus" to climb the viewpoint

In Langenstein via Quedlinburger Str. and Dorfstr. towards Börnecke (continue on HV-R-5)

Detour Cave Dwellings: follow the signs in Langenstein

Always ride along the Goldbach, at the shelter take the path left over the Goldbach bridge and continue along the main path

500 meters after a railway crossing, at the junction take the path right to Börnecke station

After Börnecke station, turn left onto the Old Halberstadt Road towards Blankenburg

In Blankenburg via Alte Halberstädter St., Albert-Schneider-Str., Thiestr., Gartenstr., Roman-Abt-Str., Rübeländer Str., Am Eichenberg towards Michaelstein Monastery

Detour Blankenburg Castle & Baroque Gardens: follow the signs via Herzogstr.

continue via Eichenbergweg to the bungalow settlement “Am Eichenberg” and follow the signs for the European Cycle Route R1

Detour Michaelstein Monastery: follow the signs

continue on European Cycle Route R1 towards Benzingerode

In Benzingerode via Friedensstr., “Am Stapenberg” towards Wernigerode

Turn right at the forest edge towards Wernigerode and follow the signs for the European Long-Distance Cycle Route R1

In Wernigerode via Maerkerstieg, Am Lustgarten, Lindenallee, Rudolf-Breitscheid-Str., Schmatzfelder Str., Im Stadtfelde towards Halberstadt

continue on Holtemme Cycle Path parallel to the river

cross A36 via underpass and continue on Holtemme Cycle Path

Just before Reddeber stop at the café and beer garden “Rothe Mühle”

Continue past Minsleben to Silstedt following the signs

In Silstedt via Pfingstgras, Glockengasse, Mühlenstr., In den sauren Wiesen, follow the signs for Holtemme Cycle Path

Detour Harzkristall Glass Manufactory: shortly before Derenburg follow the signs

At the next junction turn left towards the riding stables, before the entrance gate turn right

In Derenburg take Utzlebener Str., Minslebener Str., Holtemmestr., Kanalstr. and Im freien Felde street

After Derenburg at the fork take the narrow path left parallel to the Holtemme and follow to Mahndorf

Cross Holtemme at the small bridge, pass Wichhäuser Mill and continue towards Mahndorf

In Mahndorf keep straight and follow the cycle route signs for the Harz Foothills Cycle Round Route (HVR)

Detour Gut Mahndorf: turn right on Dorfstr.

Pass Veltensmühle to reach Halberstadt

In Halberstadt via Mahndorfer Str., Sternstr., Westendorf, Hoher Weg back to the starting point

via B 81 from Magdeburg

via A 36 from Braunschweig, Goslar, Halle

via B 79 from Quedlinburg as well as Wolfenbüttel

Free large parking area "Düsterngraben"

You can reach Halberstadt by train from Magdeburg, Halle, or Thale (Abellio)
