During the winter months between November and March, the hiking trail through the Bodetal Gorge is regularly closed for safety reasons. The detour during this time runs from Treseburg over the ridge south of the Bodetal and the Hexentanzplatz to Thale.

Due to the recent storm damage in early September 2022, the Bodetal is now closed prematurely. Please use this winter detour!

Directions

The detour is not marked with the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg symbol. In the town center of Treseburg, follow the Harzklub trail 32C (red dot) over the "White Stag" and the so-called "Arrow Monument" to the Hexentanzplatz. Here, you can enjoy the impressive view into the Bodetal Gorge and of the opposite Rosstrappe. From the Hexentanzplatz, follow the blue dot down serpentines to Thale.
