The route leads from the western edge of the Harz up to the Große Wulpke.

The altitude route leads over a steep climb up to the Luchsstein, where the last lynx was shot in 1818. On the way there, the bike must be briefly pushed in the Tränkebachtal. A second longer climb leads to the Große Wulpke. Afterwards, it generally goes distinctly downhill and northwards into the Schildautal. The trails during the route mostly lead uphill.
