Candlelight Tour
This atmospheric tour of the medieval Walkenried monastery complex begins after dark on the monastery forecourt, against the impressive backdrop of the Gothic cloister and the church ruins. It leads through the unique cloister and the adjacent ground-floor rooms, which were once reserved exclusively for the monks. Enveloped by the darkness and coolness of the medieval cloister, bathed in the warm light of hundreds of candles, visitors learn about the eventful history of the Walkenried monks and their monastery.
