Candlelit Tour with a Kniester Dinner
Enjoy the impressive atmosphere in the cloister, followed by a traditional Harz-style Kniester dinner in the monks’ former dining hall.
The tour takes you through the monastery’s unique Gothic cloister, illuminated by hundreds of candles, as well as through its ground-floor rooms, which were once reserved for the monks—an extraordinary experience.
After the tour, enjoy a special Harz specialty in the monks’ former dining hall: A “Kniesteressen”—a meal consisting of baked potatoes with bacon and rosemary, soup, bread, homemade quark and coleslaw, ground meat, red sausage, liver sausage, aspic, and Harz cheese.
Upon request and by arrangement with the KlosterCafé, a vegetarian version of the “Kniesteressen” is also available.
