Harz BaudenSteig

Enjoy the sunny side of the Harz

The Harzer BaudenSteig connects the most beautiful forest inns and mountain lodges (Bauden) on the sunny side of the Harz Mountains and offers a hiking experience with wonderful places to stop for a bite to eat.

Marked with the brown symbol, it leads hikers on 6 stages for about 100 km from Bad Grund to Walkenried Monastery. The Bauden range from rustic to refined and offer Harz hospitality and tasty specialities. In addition to the Bauden, varied and well-signposted trails, magnificent views, as well as numerous attractions along the route make this hike an unforgettable experience.

Tip: For hikers who don't want to walk an entire stage, circular trails are marked along the Harzer BaudenSteig. These give you the opportunity to reach the Bauden on half-day or full-day hikes. Without walking the same path twice, you can easily return to your starting point at the car park.
