Harz information

Expert advice for the entire Harz region

The Harz is truly impressive – with its stunning nature, charming half-timbered towns, cultural highlights and exciting leisure activities. It’s no surprise that many visitors don’t just go to one place, but like to explore the whole region during their stay. Whether hiking in the national park, taking a ride on the Harz narrow-gauge railway, visiting a museum or making a stop at one of the many viewpoints: the Harz is full of variety – and so are its visitors.

This is exactly why the tourist information centres play such an important role. They are often the first stop for guests looking for tips, inspiration and personal recommendations. But nowadays, it’s not enough to only know your own town. What’s needed is a wider view beyond local boundaries – with solid knowledge of regional highlights, current events and insider tips from all over the Harz.

To make this promise of quality visible, we introduced the “Harz Information” certificate in 2013. It is awarded to tourist information centres that stand out with high service quality, extensive regional knowledge and genuine hospitality. They represent expert advice – not just locally, but for the whole Harz region.
